Hope you are reading the contents of our webmagazine Shantham under our Shanthanjali Trust, uploaded on 18th of every month. While I request you to contribute articles for the coming issues, I would also earnestly appeal to you to make your contributions in cash and kind for helping the needy.

We have been helping the needy people in terms of assistance for pursuing education-primary, secondary and UG/PG levels for the deserving students. We have also been helping the poor old aged people in terms of medical assistance thru mediclaim with STAR HEALTH Insurance. Right from the inception in Mar 2009 till date all these assistance amounts to a sum of Rs 2.3 lacs (Rupees two lacs and thirty thousands only) roughly.

We want to continue these with more needy people with all your assistance and cooperation. A mediclaim for a senior citizen costs around Rs 5000 per year with a coverage of Rs one lac. Per student we help to the tune of Rs 5000-20000 depending upon the level.

Apart from that I have been contemplating a kind of training for youth on Educating and enriching Values, which of course is the motto of the trust. The recent happenings in India have prompted to start that kind of training soon. India was dreamed to be a Ramrajya by the Father of our Nation Mahatma Gandhi. Alas, it has now become the SCAM Rajya, for which every Indian should feel ashamed of. As is the king, so are the subjects, that old adage is no longer valid now. As is the citizen so is the corporation councillor or MLA or MP. We are only electing them. We have become the victims of compromises on our fundamental values. Unless the basic values of our culture are preserved, it is very difficult to change the whole system.

These kinds of thoughts are haunting my mind for quite a long time. God has given some vague shape for the concretization of these thoughts. Why can’t we give free training for a small group of youngsters in batches to educate them in these kinds of moral and ethical values? It will be a small step but a decisive and concrete step in the right direction. Apart from educating and creating the awareness on moral values, we will assist young people achieve their potential to reach the next level in their quest for success. The areas contemplated will be in the communication skill successful management principles for success, better interpersonal and team building skills.

For this type of training, we plan to buy & provide a LCD permanently for the programme.
