Solution Oriented Actions: Action Oriented Solutions
While there may be a great debate about whether a New Age actually dawned on the 21st of December 2102 or not, there is no denying that The Energy around us has changed!! We only have to look within and connect with our inner-most thoughts and feelings to recognize this change. And the biggest indicator of this change is a ‘call for action’ from all quarters and in all spheres! Along with the old energy, the time for ‘talking’ is nigh over; now is the time for action. And not just any action but solution oriented actions!
As it is said in Hindi, ‘Ab Paani Sar Se Utar Gaya Hai’, and no amount of intellectual discussion can help us breathe clean air, drink ‘live’ water, and eat un-contaminated food. It is the proverbial darkest before the dawn. But how will this dawn dawn? How can we, as individuals help? After all the task is mammoth, and we don’t know where to begin!
It is said that when we don’t know where to begin, the best place to begin with is ourselves. And that is the preparation we have been doing since the dawn of this millennium, when un-be-known to us, a silent revolution was seeded inside us. Many of us diligently worked upon ourselves, to clean the dross from our physical, mental and emotional bodies, so that we could hear the clarion call on the 21/12/12, and move into action. Mere spiritual discussions do not satisfy us any more, we are being urged to “materialize” the spiritual wisdom inculcated over eons- and all we need to do is, connect with our Soul-Song! And as we do that we can hear Gaia, the Spirit of Planet Earth, singing in unison with our song!!
This song tells us that beginning with our homes, we need to get our act together and learn how to live in sync with the New Energies of Mother Earth. There is no time to lose, so we have to begin immediately, if we haven’t already done so. If we neglect to do so, and horror of horrors, if we continue with our wasteful, unclean, devious habits, even God can’t save us!
Since I am primarily a home-maker, I shall begin with what can easily be done- with just a wee bit effort- in our homes. Since I practice what I preach, I ‘know’ that it can be done, provided we are sincere in our intentions!
As a home-maker, my first concern is that of feeding my family. And not just feeding any kind of food, but ensuring good-quality, nutritious, wholesome, fresh, and living food. And that is no mean task; if you are a home-maker too, you would know what I mean!!
I am from UP, married to a Bengali, and have grown up with pan-Indian and International cuisine. All these years, I have proudly displayed my culinary skills to feed family and friends, with all kinds of simple and exotic preparations. But of late, I find myself asking, “Did God intend me (or any other human being) to just spend time in satisfying gastronomical urges/ needs/ greed of my family? God, with his infinite intelligence, has created a perfect world. There is food for every living being. No animal or bird has to ever worry about ‘cooking’ a meal. (The word ‘cooking’ itself has some sinister meaning, as in ‘what’s cooking here? What story are you cooking up? Who’s been cooking this? Etc. Not very complimentary, eh!) Then why does His most evolved, most perfected creation- created in His own image- has to spend so much time, energy and thought upon the very basic need for survival? Didn’t God take that into account, while creating us?”
Something deep inside tells me that God did take ALL our needs into consideration, while creating us. But we were led to believe by others, who surely had an axe to grind, that we are here on Planet Earth to primarily satisfy our hunger pangs. How dumb can we be to believe such a thing? It is like telling a computer that its primary task is to take care of its power supply!! The power supply is a given factor. It is true that the computer can’t function without power, but it doesn’t have to spend time worrying about where the power will come from. That is the task of its creator! In the case of a computer that creator is a human being and in the case of a human being that creator is God. Simple! God has created us after ensuring that there is enough, ready-made food available all around us. We need not worry about it! At least, that is what God intended!!
As I understood God’s intention, I realized that the ever-increasing desire of not just the present generation, but my generation as well, to do as little with kitchen as possible is in resonance with the New Energy. We are not made to just toil in the kitchen! The only thing is that we are looking in the wrong direction for short-cut solutions. The ready-to-eat foods are not only available on the shelves of ever-burgeoning food stores, but also hanging from the branches of the trees, shrubs and plants. God put them there-for His/ Her children- with great amount of love and thought.
This is the food which is exactly suited for local climatic conditions. We don’t need to consult any nutritionist, dietician, health-expert, doctor (Just like I am suspicious of the word ‘cooking’, I am also not very comfortable with the word ‘doctor’ as it always reminds me of someone ‘doctoring’ something or espousing a ‘doctrine’) etc to know which food contains what and how much of it is needed by our body on a daily basis. The premise is simple- eat as much as would satisfy your hunger pangs; that is the ‘right’ amount needed for your body.
Isn’t that fun? Eat when you want, how much ever you want, without thinking about pots, pans and other cooking paraphernalia. There is no worry about putting on weight, shedding weight, going to gym etc. There is no need to go shopping for food or think of storage spaces for what you buy. All you have to do is just go pluck some food straight of the tree/ plant/ bush. Wow! That is surely ‘fresh’ food. It is alive! Have you ever tasted such food? If you have, you won’t ever forget that Divine taste.
But hey, wait a minute! What am I talking about? Where are all the fruit laden trees, shrubs and plants? I don’t see many, except for some in my own backyard. But I am one of the fortunate ones. Not everyone is so fortunate. But why not? How difficult is it to plant a tree? You can begin with planting just a seed of whatever it is that you ate today? A mango? A tomato? A red chill? An avocado?
Everyday our household generates so many seeds, why can’t we plant some of them? Oh, you don’t have enough space, you say! But that’s not true! Actually you haven’t been giving enough thought to this subject of growing your own food. You think it is far easier to buy food from the market. After all someone is growing food for you. It is their business. You have other important things to do.
Sadly, when growing food becomes a ‘business’, when food is grown for ‘money’, the consciousness changes! Not just that of the food-grower but that of the consumer as well! No food can be as nourishing as food grown by one’s own hands for one’s own family.
But the sad fact is that no one ever taught us that. We were told that it is more important to ‘grow’ money! But what is money primarily used as? As a means to buy food! Do you see the trap now? What if each one of us grew our own food? Not any complicated food but simple ready-to-eat stuff. Can you imagine the return on investment? No management school teaches us about such brilliant stuff. Growing a few local fruit trees is the easiest thing to be done. You only need to take care of it in the initial couple of months, after that it will become your food factory. Not only that it will also purify the air around your home, giving ample amount of oxygen and using up a great amount of carbon-di-oxide; besides offering its shade to you and many avian friends, who will wake you up with their song. You won’t need any mobile-alarms anymore!!
I can’t even enumerate all the benefits that a tree in your backyard can offer you; I can at best make an intelligent guess, because I am myself not yet aware of many benefits that the trees are intended for- by our creator, Father-Mother God! Anastasia, of the Ringing Cedars of Russia, says that a live fence of trees planted by your own hands around your house, and taken care of with love, will provide protection to your house from any intrusion! How cool is that? No armed guards required! She further adds that if someone tries to steal fruit from your tree (the one planted and nurtured by you with love, not for money but for your loved ones), the tree will immediately secrete some chemical into it that will make the fruit poisonous or unfit for consumption. Considering the fact that the trees can sense our thoughts and intentions before we carry them out, it seems like a plausible action; though I am not yet a witness to such a phenomenon.
This is all for today - I will be back with more...................:)
