Incredible Architecture: Gateshead Bridge!

The Gateshead Millennium Bridge is not your average bridge. It spans the river Tyne in England, between the quays arts quarter on the south band and to the Quayside of Newcastle on the North. It is made of 2 graceful, half moon curves, one of them is actually the deck and the other one supports it. It's designed to allow for the passing of pedestrians and bicyclists. However, since boats and ships also need to pass, this whole huge contraption rotates, and as the arch tilts lower, so the pathway rises, conterbalancing one another, and forming a pathway over the river.

A visually stunning and fulfilling picture, the bridge offers a great attraction to those who haven't seen its opening mechanism yet.
