- Be Honest, Be Helping Too

After his retirement, he was doing advisory services for a Rajya Sabha MP, Mr. DSA Sivaparakasam from Mukkoodal, a village near Tirunelveli. While many unscrupulous politicians are pursuing ways to make quick money from public funds, this politician was an exception, the like can only be hand picked. Each and every paise of the development fund allotted to him for his area, will be spent with utmost care and concern for the needy and long pending projects. Mr KMS was behind the task and with the active back up of the MP, he was instrumental for undertaking many useful projects for the area. Not only that. Whoever comes to him for any help or assistance from the M.P. will not go with any sad face. The patient hearing from the public and the speedy redressal of their grievances have earned a good name for the M.P. It is in no way exaggerated, if we say that KMS was behind all these. A perfect combination of two honest and helping souls.
There were occasions when some local politicians were dictating terms, be it allocation of funds or utilising his authority for the personal gains of the unscrupulous, approaching the MP, it was Mr KMS, who acted with sheer conviction and undaunted courage and refused to comply with their direction. Occasions were many, when he was threatened. He never bothered about those crooks.
He stands as a model of honesty, courage and conviction. He used to quote "Be like a Dolphin in the sea, which will never bother about the whale, with which it will never become a prey or it will never eat the small fish. Just ignore the cruel people, don't harm the innocent. Be firm like a Dolphin in your ideals". A very apt message for many in today's context.
